Why is polygamy accepted in Islam?

0

Islam regulated this practice, made it more humane, and instituted equal rights and status for all wives. Polygamy is discouraged unless necessity for it exists. It is also evident that the general rule in Islam is monogamy and not polygamy. Only very tiny percentage of Muslims practice polygamy over the world. Islam is straight-forward in dealing with practical problems. Rather than requiring hypocritical and superficial compliance, Islam goes deeper into the issues of individuals and societies, and provides for legitimate and practical solutions which are far more beneficial than would be the case if they were ignored. 🙂 Wallahu A’lam Bissawab.
