Whats New for the 2005 Subaru Outback?
An all-new and vastly improved third generation 2005 Subaru Outback model line is spearheaded by the new Outback 2.5 XT with a 250-horsepower, intercooled and turbocharged, 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine, a detuned version of the motor under the hood of the impressive Impreza WRX STi. A new 250-horsepower, 3.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine powers outback 3.0 R models. The base Outback 2.5i has a revised 168-horsepower four-cylinder engine that meets PZEV emissions standards. Slightly larger than the previous model, the Outback is longer than before and the redesigned interior has more room. The cabin also features flush surface treatments, and soft-touch dash and door trim, in an effort to move the Outback upscale.
