When do the DBZ Movies come into place?
Well, you need to be a bit more specific because there’s 13 movies for DBZ alone; another 3 movies for the original DB and I believe 1 short movie for GT. The first DBZ movie takes place between original DB and DBZ in a sort of alternate storyline where Goku’s friends already knew that Gohan is his son and they all fight the demon named Garlic who becomes immortal. Garlic Jr. shown in the tv series is Garlic’s son who is also immortal. Most of the movies take place quite randomly in the series, some of them before the Freiza arc and others in the Android arc. The last movie which I strangely liked very much takes place possibly after the Majinn Buu saga ends when a mysterious alien gives young Trunks in the regular timeline the sword he later on uses against Freiza (how did Mirai Trunks get an identical sword if he lives in a different timeline.. who knows…).
