Why is Queensland Health recruiting?
Thanks to its sub-tropical climate, relaxed outdoor lifestyle, growing infrastructure and stable economy, Queensland is the preferred location for many new arrivals each year. With approximately 1500 people moving to Queensland each week, it is the fastest growing state in Australia. Queensland will continue to be Australia’s growth capital, accounting for more than 30 per cent of Australia’s population growth between now and 2020. Recruitment remains a major priority for the Queensland Government, with a target to employ more than 3500 doctors, nurses and allied health professionals from 2009 – 2012. In addition to recruiting more health professionals, the Queensland Government’s record health spend enables us to press forward with our record $6 billion health infrastructure program.
