What is the discipline system?
Lead Academy uses a paycheck system to keep track of student discipline. Each student in the school has a weekly paycheck, which captures his or her behavior, work ethic and attitude throughout the week. Students may earn money for appropriate actions, but may lose money for choosing not to behave properly or complete work on time. The money the students earn comes in the form of imitation “dollars” which may be used for purchasing items at the school store (school supplies, school uniforms, snacks, games, etc.) or for gaining entrance to special Lead events such as dances, field trips, and “fun days.” Students earn paycheck dollars for coming to school on time, completing homework, and having their assignments signed by a parent each day. Typically, a student can earn up to fourteen (14) dollars per day: 1 dollar for behaving in each class; 1 dollar for completing each homework assignment and getting it signed by a parent.
