Who uses a skate park?
Skate parks provide for three main disciplines, Skateboarders, BMXers, and In line skaters. Each has its own specific requirement, but all share similar equipment. Users will vary in age, race, background, and ability, but all will gain respect if they adhere to the skate park etiquette. The sports are currently male dominated, with ages ranging from 5 to 35+, and a group of users in each area will have their own requirements, whilst having similarities to the next. In most areas where parks have been built the number of beginners and younger users entering the sports has grown, and this should be planned and prepared for.
