Why are current chemotherapy or immunotherapy drugs most effective in lymphoma or leukemia but not for other cancer types with solid tumors?
Lymphoma and leukemia cancer cells usually do not organize to form solid tumors and each individual cancer cells can be easily accessed and killed by chemotherapy drugs (within the physiological tolerance threshold). However, the dose that can kill solid tumor cancer cells usually exceed the physiological tolerance threshold due to the solid-structure of the tumor.
