Store bought seed mixes are pre-packed and are very good for your pet gerbil. The great thing about these seed mixes is not only are they convenient, but they are also nutritiously well balanced. However, most pet gerbils pick and eat their favorites – like pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds which are very tasty but fatty. Therefore, unless you force feed them the less favored, leftover seeds, they are not getting a nutritionally balanced diet.
