What Prednisone is used for?
Naturally occurring glucocorticoids, which also have salt-retaining properties, are used as replacement therapy in adrenocortical deficiency states. Their synthetic analogs are primarily used for their potent anti-inflammatory effects in disorders of many organ systems. Prednisone is used as replacement therapy in patients whose adrenal glands are unable to produce sufficient amounts of cortisol. Prednisone tablets are available in 5 strengths: 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg and 50 mg. Prednisolone also it is used in treatment of cancer formations of a blood cell (leukaemia), and cancer formations of gland of a lymph. Destruction of red blood cells by immune cells is possible to consider the illnesses of blood involving destruction platelets by own immune cells of a body.
