How Do You Torte A Cake (Toothpick Method)?

0

Are you tired of trying to torte your cake and coming up with two wavy pieces? Here is an easy way to evenly cut your cake, using items that you already have in your kitchen. Using your ruler, hold it next to the cake and determine the middle. Insert a toothpick, half way into the cake at the middle. Continue all the way around the cake, inserting toothpicks. I would recommend using quite a few toothpicks, placing them about an inch apart. Take special care to only insert toothpicks in halfway. You don’t want them to become part of the cake. Lay a large knife flat on the toothpicks and slide thru cake. Take your flat plate or cake board and slide it in-between the two cake layers and lift top layer off. At this point you will most likley want to fill the cake, review my article, “How to fill a cake”.
