What is a Fan Site?
A fan site is any website that is dedicated to a celebrity, genre, television show, movie, sports figure or team, or other media, that is put together and run by fans, rather than production companies or corporate sponsors. Often, a celebrity will endorse one of his or her fan sites if they are particularly well done. Fan sites usually include a blog with news and updates, a photo gallery, video clips, listings of upcoming celebrity appearances, a community forum or message board, and a newsletter that you can sign up for to get e-mail alerts. These sites most often act as an online fan club and are great places to find up to date news, information, photos and upcoming appearance dates, as well as a community of other fans.
