What is Movement Analysis (LMA)?
Laban Movement Analysis is a system of structural and dynamic concepts developed by movement and dance theorist Rudolf Laban (1879–1958). It allow us to understand and organize ideas about movement. By breaking it down and attributing to the process a specialized vocabulary and notation systems we can speak to others about what we see, both in a simplified manner and a holistic fashion. Through the LMA work one learns how movement connects us to ourselves and other human beings, how movement is a way of knowing in all of life.
