Wheres the Salon doves?
I don’t get it, where’s the doves at Salon to own this story. This is exactly what will happen in Afg as soon as we move out, so it would be refreshing if the same “out of Afg” crowd that usually shows up to news about the Afg war would show up and face the reality of what they’re going to be consigning Afg girls to, forever, and ever, and ever… But this is only partly why we need to stay in Afg as long as it takes to establish a modern, civilized society there. The real reason is we don’t currently know how to stop conservative militants in any part of the world, and conservative militants are the ones who strap suicide belts on, ram jets into sky scrapers and refuse to compromise on any part of whatever agenda they have.
