How is Dimensional Weight Used?
Parcel shipment carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS) use Dimensional weight under the following conditions UPS/FedEx/DHL Air Shipments Shipping charges are based on greater of the Dim weight and Actual weight for all shipments UPS/FedEx/DHL International Shipments Shipping charges are based on greater of the Dim weight and Actual weight UPS/DHL Domestic Ground Shipments Shipping charges are based on • Actual weight for shipping cartons less then 5184 cubic inches • Greater of Dim or actual weight for parcels that are larger then 5,184 cubic inches.
