Does Egyptian currency expire?
All currency expires sometime. On occasions because of inflation and the need to replace the worthless junk with something you hope people will believe in, sometimes because it’s profitable to replace coins (cupro-nickel instead of silver, although the silver ones are still spendable until the government gets its hands on them and sells the metal off…), sometimes because notes have been changed in design to give work to the engravers employed by the forgers (ooh, isn’t Baloo cynical…). I’ve not come across any currency with a built-in expiry date. They put sell-by dates on almost everything else (except salt so far), so it may come….
