Who is Wayzata Girls Rugby Club?
Wayzata girls rugby club was formed in 1994. It was the first women’s high school rugby club in the State. Since 1994 it has grown from just 13 girls to over 80 in 2005. WGRC has won more state championships than any other Minnesota team. It has won the midwest championships twice. The Club’s incorporated as a not for profit under S 317A of the Minnesota statues. In 2008 the club received 501(c)3 Federal IRS Charity status, back dated to 2004. The club is an official charity and donations to the club are tax deductible. Parents wishing to fill directorship positions are very welcome. When is the season and when does practice start WGRC starts practice at the end on the last week in January. We practice Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4.30 until 6 pm. The season starts at the begining of April when we play our league games on Wednesday afternoon at about 5, 5.30 pm. The season ends in the first weekend in June with the Minnesota State High School Championships.
