Can Vein problems be treated with Lasers?

0

Lasers are used to treat veins in several ways. In our practice we have several Lasers which we use to treat veins among other things. It has been our experience that Lasers work great at treating very tiny vessels such as those found on the face, particularly on or around the nose. However, Laser technology at this point does not work well on most leg veins and can leave discoloration of the skin while often only partially treating the abnormal vessel. Most Phlebologists would agree that Sclerotherapy works much more effectively and is less expensive while creating more immediate positive lasting results. While EVLT-Laser ablation appears to work fairly well for treating the Great Saphenous Vein reflux, we believe that radio frequency VNUS Closure is safer and more effective. Therefore, Lasers have their place I in Phlebology but presently the beneficial uses are still quite limited.
