WHAT IS CAMP KOINONIA?
The program is offered through the Recreation and Leisure Services Program in the Department of Exercise, Sport, and Leisure Studies at UTK. University students from a variety of academic programs participate in the course, especially Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education, Human Services, and Psychology students. The 14 week course is devoted to facilitating the student’s understanding of working with children who have disabilities before actually conducting the week long Camp Koinonia experience.
