Breeding is very expensive. Bloodlines are very important and expensive to acquire and Veterinarians are not cheap. Good quality food to maintain a cattery, adds to the selling price. It is always recommended to buy from a reputable breeder as you are assured of getting a healthy, quality kitten. “BYB” or “Backyard breeders” sell unregistered kittens at any age, to anyone. I have heard many sad stories of ‘bad transactions’. Unlike ‘BYB’, reputable breeders will sell a kitten with a health guarantee and offer assistance to the new owner. Help reputable breeders by not buying from BYB’s.
