Why Guerilla Marketing?
Guerilla marketing the Firefly and Serenity DVDs is still an extremely effective way to continue to build the fanbase… and the more fans we have, the more incentive for our shiny ‘verse to return on a more regular basis. Remember, with each new person who discovers Firefly/Serenity on DVD, we stand an excellent chance of gaining another fan. We see it all the time on the message boards. Folks find FF/S on DVD and become deeply drawn in to the stories, performances and oh, that gorgeous cast. Sometimes it happens so quickly and completely, the person is genuinely surprised… but happy! And with each new fan we have a person who will then tell friends, family, co-workers, startled strangers waiting in line for coffee, and so forth, about this amazing show. It works, we KNOW it does… it’s a big part of why fans get a shiny movie from a short-lived TV show. (Helps to have a guy at the helm who’s the right kind of crazy to not give up too.)
