Squares, equilateral triangles and regular hexagons are the only regular polygons that tesselate. See the link for more info. There don’t seem to be any pictures of nonagons failing to tesselate on the internet, but you could easily generate one in Keynote, a CAD program or even Powerpoint. You’ll see that they overlap a lot.
