Why do fat people sweat so easily?
Both of the other answers make valid points. However, there is one other factor involved here. That other factor is a little thing called the volume to surface area ratio. As our bodies burn sugar to produce the energy it needs to function, they produce heat. This heat has to be dissipated through our skin (through our surfaces). As a person gets fat, his total volume increase faster than his surface area. So, he actually has less surface area from which to release each unit of heat that his body produces. To illustrate this point, think about a cube. If the cube is one centimeter on a side, then it has a total volume of one cubic centimeter and six square surfaces of one square centimeter each. So this gives us a total surface area of six square centimeters. Thus we get a volume to surface area ratio of 1:6.
