Can fabric shades be washed?
Fire Farm recommends dry cleaning all fabric shades. How do I clean the paint finish? Most marks can be removed with a damp cloth. How do I clean my paper or plastic shade? Dust can be removed using a vacuum with a brush attachment. Marks may be removed with an art gum eraser and gentle pressure. Will the metal mesh shades change color? The metal mesh used in our shades is made from solid stainless steel, copper and brass uncoated wire. The stainless steel will retain its original color while the non-ferrous brass and copper will acquire a natural patina from environmental oxidation over time. This usually manifests itself as a pleasant ‘mellowing’ and darkening of the shade over several years.
