What have the Lady Vols changed?
Ginny Brown has improved by over four strokes in her scoring average from last season to this year (80.2 to 75.8). What made Brown improve so much, and have you ever had a player improve as much from one season to the next in your tenure at Tennessee? “Ginny is a great ball striker. The way she hits the ball has been consistent her entire career here. Especially her freshman year, we spent a lot of time and energy trying to get it together for her because we knew if she could start putting well that she could play like she is now. But we couldn’t get her there and it didn’t come around. Over the summer she worked really hard with (local instructor) Randy Wylie and made some necessary changes to her putting – going to the belly putter and that claw grip that she uses. She needed to grow up a little bit, mature and decide that she was willing to make those changes in order to become a better player.
