What are the best pick-up lines……..?
The ones that don’t sound like pick-up lines. Great introductions spur immediate dialogue, and are not cheesy one-liners (though there may be some that those work for, it’s better not to assume). The best way to start a conversation with a good-lookin stranger is to ask them for assistance. Ask them if they know what time it is. (Do this on a day you’re not wearing a watch, of course) Ask for directions. Ask for a restaurant recommendation for you and your friend who’s coming to town. Ladies, need help carrying something? Or diagnosing what’s wrong with your car. Studies have shown that people are more flattered when asked for help than being offered help. Why? Offering help can read either as trying too hard to impress or as a sign that you think the other person needs help. When you are asked for help, however, you feel you are trusted and someone has faith in your abilities and/or opinion. This concept is especially important for people-pleasers to learn.
