What is foil printing?
The Foil Printing process involves a heated metal plate being applied like a stamp to a roll of coloured material called foil. This process results in an image being transferred from the foil on to the magnetic rubber. Foil printing best suits simple text, line art and basic logos. It is not suited to large block areas as moisture becomes trapped between the foil and rubber causing print defects. It also does not suit printing images of close registration, shades of colour or more than 3 spot colours. For designs of this nature Magfoil recommends clients consider our Full Colour Digitally Printed range of magnets.
