How long do parrots live?
Parrots are very long lived birds. Large parrot species like Cockatoos, Amazons, and Macaws have an average lifespan of 50 to 60 years, though 80 years is not uncommon and some birds have been recorded as living to be over 100. Medium sized parrots like Cockatiels or Conures typically live for 20 to 30 years. Even small parrot species like lovebirds and parakeets have an unusually long lifespan for their size, typically 15 to 20 years.
