What is MCS Accreditation?

The MCS Scheme has been established to provide potential operators of small wind turbines (<50kW) with confidence in the power output and annual energy yield of these wind turbines. The Scheme introduced a minimum set of requirements that small wind turbines must meet, which must be demonstrated by undertaking a series of tests. In order to claim the Feed in Tariff it is essential that you purchase an MCS accredited Wind Turbine and that you use an MCS Accredited installer. Greenthinking are MCS Accredited to undertake "The Supply, Design, Installation, Set to Work Commissioning and Handover of Wind Turbine Systems" under the Microgeneration Installation Standards MCS 001 and MCS MIS 3003. For more information please look at the MCS website. Return to Frequently Asked Questions.
