The artist name they sign on their chop is their artist name. Most all Yixing pots have at least one chop; Some have three or more! Yixing pots are never washed. The highest price paid for a Yixing pot is $75,000. This precious pot was made in 1995. Very old Yixing teapots are considered national treasures and cannot be exported. In China, tea aficionados have parties for their teapots when they are new. Some tea drinkers prefer, and only use, heated mountain snow for their tea. Tea boats were made to keep and reuse this precious pure water source. Some people prefer to fill the tea boat with boiling water to keep the teacups and the teapot hot. You can put boiling water and cold water simultaneously in a Yixing teapot and it will not crack.
