How do I cut safety glass?
Mark the Safety GlassMake a template out of paper or cardboard, representing the cut line. Place the template on the glass. Trace the template with a felt-tip marker to make a cut line. Flip over the safety glass. Draw the mirror image with a felt-tip pen, since refraction on safety glass makes seeing the line on the other side difficult.Cut the Safety GlassPosition a glass cutter at a 45-degree angle on the cut line. Score the surface using the marker line as the guide, in one continuous cut. Listen for a sound like a zipper opening as the cutter presses down and scores the glass. Flip the safety glass over. Score the line with the cutter.Separate the Safety GlassTap both sides of the excess glass with the ball on the end of the cutter. Drop glass solvent in the crack to dissolve the membrane holding the glass together. Pull the cut piece away.
