Are black pearls dyed or natural?
Yes, black freshwater and Chinese Akoya pearls are indeed dyed black. The better quality dyed black pearls have almost the same quality with Tahitian pearls, however their prices is much lower than Tahitian pearls. Because the entire pearl’s color is transformed permanently during the dying process, the black color doesn’t fade. Tahitian pearls are the only natural color black pearls.
