Who Teaches at Handbridge?
We have, Chief Club instructor, Mike O’Connor who is currently graded to 6th Dan by the Karate Union of Great Britain and to 5th Dan by the Japan Karate Association (Grandmater Enoeda Sensei) He hold a Ist Dan rank in Judo and has for many years been a weapons student attaining recognition from Grandmaster Higashi and Grandmaster Tanaka Sensei’s . Mike has been a senior referee for over 37 years and officiates at both Regional and National Competitions. He is enhanced vetted by the Police to be teaching children. Mike holds both current and has held First Aid at Work Certificates and is certificated for medical gases and use of AED defibrillator for nearly 30 years now. (Mike is County trained as part of his work as a Shift Duty Officer at the Fire Station of Vauxhall Motors) Assistant Chief Club instructor is Syd Fisher, 2nd Dan, which he took with Sensei Enoeda and has held that grade over 23 years.
