What are SealSkinz® made of?
SealSkinz® feature a proprietary 3-layer system consisting of the latest state-of-the-art materials to provide the best in waterproof protection. They have an abrasion resistant outer layer of nylon and Du Pont Lycra® Spandex for durability. Elasticized cuffs prevent socks from sliding down and losing their shape. The waterproof Moisture Vapor Transpiration (MVT) membrane lets perspiration out while preventing water from coming in. The third and inner layer is composed of DuPont Coolmax® fabric that wicks away perspiration from the skin to increase comfort. Coolmax® fiber enhances the MVT action by diffusing perspiration over a wide surface area to allow perspiration to evaporate quickly.
