What is a secondment?
A secondment involves time spent in an industrial (or perhaps another academic) research lab. Where closely aligned, the secondment project can contribute directly to your PhD. Alternatively, it is also possible to ‘stop the clock’ on your PhD to allow time to be spent on a project that is independent or protected by different IP arrangement. Secondments may be available with some of our industrial and commercial partners .
