Who is the best comic book hero?
“Best” is a subjective term, so you should get a variety of answers with no common denominator other than personal preference. I’ve always found Jack Cole’s Plastic Man adventures to be the most entertaining stories featuring any costumed character. The golden age Plastic Man stories were delightful for two reason: they stood the idea of a “super hero” on its ear, and they present a reformed criminal who has gained a dubious ability but takes himself seriously as the only truly sane person in a world that is absolutely absurd. The Plastic Man stories wouldn’t work if Plastic Man was a clown; they’re devastatingly funny because Plastic Man always plays it straight, no matter what happens.
