The Anti-Defamation League or ADL is an international non-government body in the USA. Basically it is a civil rights/human relation agency protecting democratic ideals and civil rights. Founded in 1913 by the Independent Order of B’nai B’rith. Its purpose is to stop discrimination firstly against Jews and then it included all people. The present national director is Abraham Foxman. ADL has 29 offices in the USA and three in other countries, the head office is in New York. The chairman is Glen Lewy. ADL tries to stop anti-Semitism, Bigotry, racism and come to the aid of the victims. They also aim for religious freedom of all faith. The Govenment is prohibited from endorsing the belief of any particular religion. The US Constitution guarantees the right of Americans to belief the religious theories of creation but it is forbidden in school science classes to be taught.
