What Causes Ringing in the Ears?
Many people suffer from ringing in the ears. This is often associated with an underlying hearing loss and therefore a formal hearing test and physical exam are needed. Occasionally, the ringing can be a signal that there is an abnormality in the blood vessels in the neck or head or that there is a problem in the nerves that travel from the ear to the brain. For some patients, the cause of the ringing cannot be determined.
