Can proposed motions be amended?
Motions not passed by that Bonser Method and not rejected by that Bonser Method (by the rejection threshold determined at the 2006 National Convention) are to be submitted to workshops at the National Convention who mayamend those motions (providing the “original intent of the motion oramendment, as received by the Members with the notification of the General Meeting, is maintained”) and may then recommend those amended motions for adoptionat a decision making plenary at the National Convention. Note: Some past National Conventions did not consider workshopped motions in plenary unless recommended by a workshop. The 2006 National Convention considered all workshopped motions in plenary and formotions that a workshop did not recommend, the workshop made that opinion known during the plenary discussion of that motion that proceeded the question being called on the motion.
