A4. The ships are christened at the shipyard where the keel was laid. LPDs 17’s and 18’s ceremonies were conducted at Northrop Grumman Ship Systems – Avondale Operations at Avondale (Greater New Orleans area), LA. The follow on ships LPD 20, and 21 will be christened at this same yard.
