Is it true that students from most Southern US states qualify for in-state tuition?
Yes. Currently students who are residents of nine Southern states — Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia — qualify for in-state tuition under the Academic Common Market. This program, run by the Southern Regional Education Board, enables students to pursue unique majors offered at public institutions in states other than their own while paying in-state tuition.
