How does e-licensing work?

The process is paperless, except for the final license itself. The e-licensing process is conducted via the Internet. Licensees complete and submit an application on the Iowa ABD web site, www.IowaABD.com. For an on-premises license, the application is sent to the licensee’s dram shop insurance company for policy verification. For off-premises licenses, the application is approved online by the city council and the Iowa ABD. The paper license is mailed to the local authority.
