The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and the American Dental Association (ADA) have been following and analyzing research on BPA for several years. Authors of an article published in January 2007 in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics reported that orthodontic adhesive resins—the compound used to bond brackets to teeth—were not found to release BPA.
