Can My PS3 Play PS2 Games?

0

The PS3 40GB model is absolutely not backwards compatible. The PS3 80GB model has limited backwards compatibility which is limited to about 50-70% of all PS2 games due to the fact that it is utilizing emulator chips in the place of the original Emotion Engine. If you’re downloading that PS2 system data to your 40 GB model, then there’s nothing I know of that can help because Sony did mention that that specific model would not support backwards compatibility. However, if you’re downloading that system data to the 80 GB model, you shouldn’t be having too many issues as far as I know.
