Why Cyber Patrol in particular?
Many of the other major censorware products had been broken already by others. Cyber Patrol hadn’t. It was more technologically sophisticated than most, so it was especially interesting. Finally, Cyber Patrol is one of the most popular, and is especially popular with schools and libraries, so a break of it would carry more political weight than a break of some of the other systems we might consider. At the time, we had nothing against Cyber Patrol, Microsystems, or Mattel beyond our general objections to censorware.
