Are Shoes Ergonomic?

Are Shoes Ergonomic? Tuesday October 14, 2008There’s a big debate going on on whether or not shoes are a good, ergonomic and healthy thing to wear. On one side the orthopedics say they can improve body mechanics through good shoes. On the other side barefooters say they can improve body mechanics by doing away with the shoes and going caveman style. There is a lot to be said on either side and no one is really going to win this argument, but the important point I wanted to pass on is that it doesn’t matter. In order to walk barefoot well your feet need to be accustomed to it. In other words, if you wear shoes then you need shoes. And since most of us do not have the luxury of deciding whether or not we want to wear shoes we should make we are wearing good shoes with good supportive insoles in them. Comments (1)See All Posts
