What do Brownie Guides do?
Brownie Guides have fun! Their meetings are full of activities and include suggestions from the Brownies themselves. There are opportunities for them to learn new and practical skills and by taking part in games they discover how to be part of a team. Brownies can earn badges for doing their best to meet special Challenges. They can also work for a wide range of interest badges. As well as the weekly meeting during term time, there may also be special activities and events at the weekend or during school holidays. The highlight of the year is often the Brownie holiday or camp. Many of the activities aim to develop each girl at a pace which suits her and are based on the Eight Point Programme followed by all Guides in The Guide Association. This is adapted to suit each girl’s age and ability. The Eight Point Programme for Brownie Guides is: • Brownies are wide awake. • Brownies keep healthy. • Brownies do their best. • Brownies have fun out-of-doors. • Brownies help at home. • Brownies
