Where is Heritage Acres?
You may have driven by it many times without realizing! Heritage Acres is the home of the Saanich Historical Artifacts Society (SHAS). It is located in Central Saanich on Lochside Drive, accessed by turning off the Pat Bay Highway at Island View Rd, and then a quick turn onto Lochside down a long driveway. You can see some of it from the highway, but there is much more on this beautiful acreage than you can see at 80km a hour. There are many lovely heritage buildings set in a ‘vintage village’ style setting, as well as a museum of artifacts and many interesting sites to see.
