Where do porcupines live?
A. Porcupines live in western and northern North America. They prefer to live in forests, but wander in many areas from river bottoms to high tundra. Favorite spots are brushy or wooded and usually involve trees such as pine, spruce or pinon. Porcupines sleep during the day, sometimes in caves or under rocks or fallen timber, but under your deck will do, too, as will any other location that provides shade and shelter from predators.
