What is a peer coach?
Peer coaches are current UA students who assist Early College students with their transition to a college level of study. They provide general guidance and support and serve as a resource for students. Peer coaches are trained on FERPA guidelines and may not be allowed to share any information with parents. Peer coaches communicate with students over the phone and through email, but never through social networking sites like Facebook, mySpace, or Twitter. They are utilized to: • Serve as a friendly contact in an online environment • Foster a learning community that sustains Early College students in a unique online environment • Encourage students to stay on track for the successful completion of each course • Identify online support services for students in the program (i.e.
