Can any dent be repaired?
No. The biggest factors in deciding if a dent can be fixed by PDR are location and depth. Damage the size of a basketball or larger can be repaired successfully, as long it is not very deep. But, a very deep dime sized dent may not be repairable because the metal is stretched too much. The paint may also crack if the dent is too deep. Damage the size of a golf ball or smaller is the most common repair. Depth or location issues prevent about 5% of minor dents from being repaired. But, about 95% of minor dents can be repaired. Difficult areas include fender lips, the front of hoods, sharp body lines, and on the edge of a panel.
